Learn the complete flow: find opportunities that fit, keep your practice records, and turn those records into application answers you can copy.

01Getting startedSign-in & internet

knoriai is a Windows and macOS app for visual artists. Sign in, then answer seven short questions used to match opportunities.

First-time setup

  • Check knoriai.com for current download availability and installers.
  • Sign in with email or an available Google, Kakao, or Apple option.
  • Add your discipline, birth date, gender, residence, activity regions, career stage, and applicant type.

Navigation

  • The main areas are Home, Records, Applications, and Trash.
  • Home centers on matching opportunities; Records contains records, writing, and the lineage view.
  • Settings manages your account, matching profile, sync, subscription, language, and support.

02Find fitting opportunitiesSign-in & internet

Home shows only open opportunities that do not conflict with your profile. If one required condition does not fit, it is not recommended.

Browse

  • Filter contests, grants, residencies, exhibitions, education, and other calls.
  • Open a listing to review eligibility, benefits, required materials, forms, and the official source.
  • Listings that cannot be assessed because your profile is incomplete are shown separately.

Save and track deadlines

  • Saved opportunities remain on this device and are available offline.
  • Export saved deadlines as an .ics file for Google, Apple, or Outlook Calendar.
  • Choose Prepare application on a listing to start an application workspace.

The opportunity feed, saved listings, and deadline calendar are free.

03Build records and writingLocal-firstMembership

Records are dated working material. Writing is polished prose such as artist statements and forewords. Both can support an application answer.

Records

  • Keep the work date, body, images, files, work-log fields, and time spent.
  • Find material again with gallery, list, or table views, search, and sorting.
  • Export PDF or Word, continue a record, or attach it as a source for writing.

Writing

  • Classify artist statements, forewords, essays, reviews, interviews, proposals, and teaching materials.
  • Start a new piece from several records; the originals remain linked as sources.
  • Import text from HWP/HWPX, Word, PDF, ODT, RTF, and text files.

Reading existing records and standard exports are free. Creating, editing, and importing require Membership.

04Create application answersMembership

Start from Prepare application on a listing, paste a list of questions, or open a form file. knoriai never submits to an institution for you.

1. Confirm questions

  • Questions confirmed from the listing, extracted from a form, pasted by you, and suggested defaults are clearly distinguished.
  • A form file is read only to extract text and questions. knoriai does not fill or recreate the file.
  • Review every question and character-limit hint before continuing.

2. Select records · 3. Preparation questions

  • Choose the records and writing relevant to this application.
  • Answer only what is missing from those sources. You can leave unknown details blank.
  • knoriai does not ask you to invent experience, amounts, or facts.

4. Review and copy

  • Read and edit each answer, then inspect its evidence and original source.
  • Copy one answer or all answers.
  • Paste into the official website or form and decide what to submit yourself.

05Write with EthosSign-in & internetMembership

Open Ethos inside an application to refine answers using the questions and records selected for that application.

What Ethos does

  • Asks first when essential application material is missing.
  • Drafts only from records you selected and details you supplied.
  • Leaves unsupported fields blank instead of presenting invented content as fact.

Data and review

  • The first AI use asks for consent to the disclosed international transfer and data items.
  • Only the minimum relevant context is sent — never your whole archive or the original form.
  • Always read and edit a draft before using it.

06Storage, sync, and exportLocal-firstSign-in & internet

Personal creative records and application answers stay on your device by default. With sync enabled, only end-to-end encrypted ciphertext is stored on the server.

Cross-device sync

  • Create a sync passphrase of at least eight characters, separate from your sign-in password.
  • Store the one-time recovery code somewhere safe.
  • If both the passphrase and recovery code are lost, neither knoriai nor the server can recover the records.

Export and deletion

  • Export records and writing as PDF, Word, and other supported formats.
  • Restore deleted records or writing from Trash, or delete them permanently.
  • You can still read and export existing records after ending Membership.

Downloading existing synced records is free; uploading new records requires Membership.

07Free and Membership

The two plans currently sold are Free and Membership. The plan screen inside the app is the final source of truth for pricing and features.

  • Sign-up, matching profile, matching feed, saved opportunities, and deadline calendar
  • Read existing records and writing, standard exports, and Trash
  • Download existing synced records

Membership · $6.99/month

  • Create, edit, and import records and writing; upload sync data
  • Build and copy application answers; write with Ethos
  • High-resolution, maximum-resolution, and size-capped exports

08Account, updates, and supportSign-in & internet

Manage your account and matching profile in Settings. If something goes wrong, use Help & Contact in the app or this support site.

Account and updates

  • Settings > Account manages your name, sign-in methods, password, and matching profile.
  • Closing your account deletes the account and associated personal data. Follow the prompt for local files.
  • The desktop app checks for updates at launch, and you can check manually from the menu.

Report a problem

  • Tell us which screen you were on, what you clicked, and what happened.
  • Diagnostics include the error location and app version, not your record text or artwork images.
  • Use Contact for account or billing questions, and Report a bug for unexpected behavior.
Frequently asked questions
Does knoriai submit applications automatically?
No. It helps draft and copy answers. You paste them into the official website or form and submit them yourself.
Will it fill my form file and save a completed copy?
No. It reads text from PDF, HWP, or Word forms to find questions, but never edits the original or generates a filled version.
Will AI invent missing experience or facts?
No. Drafts use selected records and details you provide. Unsupported fields remain blank, and you can inspect the source behind each answer.
Where are my records stored?
Personal creative records stay on your device by default. With cross-device sync enabled, end-to-end encrypted data is sent to the server.
